I had a fabulous 4:30am wake up call this am.
too early – but so worth it
As I fly through the Caribbean, to get my destination, Nevis…
Please scan quickly my WIAW, which was not much since I spent the day packing, tanning and speech writing.

hello there!
it’s jillian from cornflake dreams and i am so happy to be guest posting for corey while she at her friend beth’s wedding 🙂
i got married this past weekend and i am still recovering from all the craziness.
my husband and i got engaged a year and a half ago in portland and we spent quite a bit of time planning our big day.
the wedding ended up being just gorgeous and it was one of the happiest days of my life.
here are a few tips to beth, the bride-to-be::
via – via – via
1. pack an energy drink (or two). i’m not a coffee drinker, so the low-cal rockstar energy drink my maid of honor brought was a LIFE SAVER at 10pm. with photos, the ceremony, dancing and greeting guests you WILL get tired. (remember to drink lots of water too!)
2. SMILE! you never know when someone is taking a photo of you and your hubby.
3. try to say hello to everyone. if you have a large guest list this might be difficult but your guests deserve a thank you and a hello.
4. something will go wrong and it WILL be okay. as much planning and prep as you do beforehand something is bound to go wrong or not turn out– but that’s okay. your day should be about marrying the person you love not the popcorn machine or party favors.
5. take a moment and TAKE IT ALL IN. i was told by multiple people that your wedding day flies by (and it did) — so my husband and i made a point to remind each other to stop and take it all in. it’d be a shame to forget the really big moments (your first look, vows, first kiss, dance…)
6. try to schedule some alone time for you and your husband. prior to the ceremony my husband and i took our wedding photos together alone. it was SO nice to have that time together before we joined everyone else.
thanks again for inviting me to guest post! now i am off to pack for the honeymoon and spend some time with my new husband!!
xo,
jillian from cornflake dreams
